BOSTON (January 13, 2012) – SSeveral series featured on public television's commercial-free lifestyle channel, Create TV, were among the winners at the 3rd Annual Taste Awards held last Thursday, January 12 at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, Calif.
The Tasty Awards celebrate and recognize the year's best achievements in food and fashion programs on television, in film, and on the Web.
In the special achievement category, Lidia Bastianich of LIDIA’S ITALY IN AMERICA, and Ming Tsai of SIMPLY MING both received The Pioneer Award for trailblazing the way for other TV chefs.
Stanley Tucci, host of Create’s wine-tasting program, VINE TALK, was named Outstanding Entertainer.
CUISINE CULTURE was one of four programs to be named Breakout Foodies of the Year.
Create’s longtime Mexican cooking show, MEXICO – ONE PLATE AT A TIME WITH RICK BAYLESS, was named Best Ethnic Program.
Joanne Weir, of JOANNE WEIR’S COOKING CLASS, was one of the evenings presenters.
In total, of the 15 public television programs nominated, 11 air on Create TV.
