What's New in November
New Shows!
In November Create premieres a new art series Jerry Yarnell's School of Fine Art. This is a "how-to painting show, based on the format of a fine art curriculum. What makes this program stand out from all the others is that it will take the viewer to many different levels of instruction. These areas would include: Preparing materials [canvas, paper, etc.]; use of brushes; color mixing; research; composition; design/perspective; beginner; intermediate, and advanced painting techniques, framing, marketing, and promoting your work. This will be a comprehensive study of all the aspects of an artist's life.
The Daytime Emmy®-winning travel series Travelscope— now re-titled Joseph Rosendo's Travelscope — scales new heights of adventure, natural splendor and cultural richness this season. Host Joseph Rosendo journeys from the California coast to the islands of Hong Kong and to Chile's Tierra del Fuego. Along the way, he encounters the heights of natural beauty in the Cariboo-Chilcotin Coast region of British Columbia, celebrates Christmas in Switzerland and circumnavigates the tip of South America. The series' hallmark remains the rich cultural interchanges between Joseph and the local population. He joins the parade of medieval guilds during Zurich's spring festival, shares devotions with a holy man in a rock-hewn church in Lalibela, Ethiopia and explores the mysteries behind the stone figures on Easter Island.
A new season of Pati's Mexican Table dives deeper into both Mexico and the United States to explore some of the simple, approachable, mouth-watering dishes and ingredients that fuel host Pati Jinich's cuisine. This season, Pati visits her favorite south-of-the-border spots to uncover French twists on Mexican cooking, easy comfort food, fun birthday party treats, spicy tequila concoctions and hearty, back-to-basics meals. She marvels at the legendary floating gardens of Xochimilco, steps into the ring with lucha libre masked wrestlers, and ventures into the heart of the colonial city of Puebla, one of Mexico's culinary hubs, for a taste of the real Mexico. At the same time, Pati demystifies some of the more exotic ingredients in Mexican cooking by demonstrating how to find and handle cactus paddles, zucchini flowers, guava paste and more. She then combines these ingredients with recognizable, everyday staples like ground beef, chicken, oranges or pecans.
Also new in November are new seasons of Chefs A'Field: Culinary Adventures That Begin on the Farm and b organic with Michele Beschen.
